GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND INFROMATION LEAFLET
Admission to First Year Junior College
(Xlth) Arts, Science and Commerce streams. 2004 -2005

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING THE ADMISSION FORM.

You are given

  1. Admission form
  2. General Instructions and Information Leaflet.

Candidates are advised to refer the Notice Boards for the schedule of sale of admission forms, submission and admission procedure.

  1. SUBMISSION OF ADMISSION FORMS:
    1. Candidates should submit duly filled in admission form along with the attested photocopies (Xerox copies) of the following documents at the proper admission Counter.
      1. Marks Statement of SSC / ICSE / CBSE Examination.
      2. Caste Certificate from competent authority in case of candidates belonging to Reserved category.
      3. Special Category / Sports / Cultural Activities / Physically Challenged Certificate (if admission is claimed
        under one of these categories.)
        The following are treated as Special Category cases as per Government directives:
        1. Divorcee / Widow girl candidate.
        2. Wards of
          1. recently transferred employees of Central/State Government,
          2. In-Service/ Retired Armed personnel.
        3. Wards and grandchildren of Freedom Fighters.
        4. Candidates affected by natural calamities.
      4. For claiming additional marks in Science (Vocational) Stream:
        1. NCC/Scout Certificate 05 marks.
        2. District/State/National level participation in Athletics and Sports. 03 marks.
        3. Intermediate Drawing Examination. 05 marks.
          (If a candidate fails to submit the attested copy of the certificate, additional marks will not be taken into consideration.)
    2. Limited seats in the subject of Information Technology in lieu of Second Language are available to Commerce and Science stream students only.
    3. Limited seats in Vocational subjects in Science stream (Refer Para IIIA) in lieu of Biology and Second Language are available.
    4. As there are limited seats for Vocational subjects / Information Technology, candidates applying for these subjects should indicate the Second Language they wish to offer in case they are not selected for admission to any of the Vocational subjects / Information Technology.
    5. Second Language offered is subject to availability of seats.
    6. DO NOT ENCLOSE ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES OR PHOTOCOPIES OF ANY OTHER CERTIFICATES.
    7. Admission forms, either incomplete or without photocopies of Documents mentioned in Para IA shall be rejected.
    8. A student can submit only one admission form per faculty.
    9. IMPORTANT: Once the admission form is submitted, no changes will be entertained in any of the options selected in the admission form.
  2. ADMISSSION PROCEDURE:
    1. Submission of Admission form does not entitle a candidate to admission.
    2. Admissions will be made strictly on merit on the basis of aggregate marks obtained / converted appropriately out of 750 and according to the availability of seats from among the applications received.
    3. Percentage of seats reserved under various categories is as follows:
      SC 13% ST 7% VJ (A) 3% NT (B) 2.5% NT(C) 3.5% NT (D) 2%;
      OBC 19% SBC 2%

      5%
      Sports / Cultural activities
      2%
      Physically Challenged
      3%.
    4. List of candidates selected for admission will be displayed on the Notice Board. At the time of admission, selected candidates should submit the following documents at the proper admission Counter. Admission will be confirmed after the verification of the original documents,
      1. Originals of
        1. Marks Statement of SSC / ICSE / CBSE Examination.
        2. School Leaving Certificate.
        3. Caste Certificate from competent authority in case of candidates belonging to Reserved category.
        4. For claiming additional marks in Science (Vocational) Stream:
          1. NCC/Scout Certificate.
          2. District/State/National level participation in Athletics and Sports.
          3. Intermediate Drawing Examination.
        5. Special Category / Sports / Cultural Activities / Physically Challenged Certificate (if admission is claimed under one of these categories.)
      2. Two recent Passport size photographs,
      3. Fees in Cash / Cheque
      4. Xerox Copies of the First and Last pages of Ration Card containing the names of the family members. (Only for Girls eligible for Freeship.)
    5. School Leaving Certificate is a permanent record of the College and under no circumstances shall be returned to the students. Hence candidates are advised to keep adequate attested Xerox copies of the same before submission.
  3. Admission to Vocational Courses (Science Stream):
    1. Following Vocational subjects are available in Science stream in lieu of Biology and Second Language: 1. Electronics (EE) 2. Computer Science (CS) 3. Electrical Maintenance (EM) (Electrical Maintenance is taught in Government Technical High School, Dadar.)
    2. Limited seats are available for these Vocational subjects.
    3. Candidates will be first admitted in the General Science stream and then considered for admission to Vocational subject on Merit and as per the availability of seats in the Vocational subject selected.
    4. Merit list for admission to Vocational subjects will be prepared by taking into consideration the additional marks as follows:
      1. NCC/Scout Certificate 05 marks
      2. District/State/National level participation in Athletics and Sports. ... ... 03 marks
      3. Intermediate Drawing Examination. ... ... 05 marks
        THESE ADDITIONAL MARKS WILL BE CONSIDERED ONLY FOR ADIMISSION TO VOCATIONAL SUBJECTS AND NOT FOR GENERAL ADMISSION.
    5. A list of candidates selected for admission to Vocational subjects will be displayed separately.
  4. Payment of Fees:
    1. Fees will be accepted in Cash or Cheque (Cheques should be drawn in favour of Principal, Ruparel College)
    2. Fees should be paid at the Admission Counters only and not to any unauthorized persons.
    3. Candidates belonging to Reserved Category should attach Attested Certificate of Free Studentship form the Principal of the School last attended.

    The D. G. Ruparel College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai, was established in 1952 by the Modern Education Society, Pune. Since 1976, the Government of Maharashtra decided to have Junior College Classes (Higher Secondary Classes) with the Degree College, various Vocational Courses of Bi-focal type were introduced at + 2 stage in the year 1980.
