Sir Ness Wadia

The Ruparel College – in its formatice stage received the blessings of its President Sir Ness Wadia.

Under Seth Gordhandas’s leadership the Ruparels rapidly expanded their field of activity.

His warm and generous support and encouragement was largely instrumental in enabling the society to establish an Arts and Science College in the North of Bombay city in 1952 , which in recognition of the interest taken in its establishment by the late Seth Gordhandas and Seth Narayandas, the society with their consent named the D.G. Ruparel College.  Towards the cost of its main building Seth Gordhandas and Seth Narayandas made a handsome donation of Rs.2,00,000/- and what is important they continued to take interest in the all sided progress of the college and its attaining a place of eminence among collegiate institutions in Bombay.

The Modern Education Society has lost in Seth Gordhandas a most valued and respected friend whose valuable guidance and support will be long and gratefully remembered by the members of society.
