Established by the Modern Education Society in 1952, the Doongarsee Gangjee Ruparel College is synonymous with excellance in the field of higher education. In 2003, Ruparel College was awarded the prestigious "A" grade by the NAAC, placing it amongst the top 1% colleges in the country. In 2007-2008, the College won the Best College Award from University of Mumbai 2007-2008 from the University of Mumbai.
